Millennium is a Swedish six-part television series that aired in 2010, which was based on the film trilogy of Stieg Larsson's Millennium series. The series was produced by Yellow Bird in cooperation with several production companies, including SVT, Nordisk Film and Film i Väst. Unlike the films, the series got a rating from age 11. At Kristallen 2010, the series won the prize for "Årets TV-drama" ("This year's TV drama")[1] and in 2011 it won an Emmy Award in category TV movie/mini-series.[2]

About the series

Each episode of the series is about 90 minutes long,[3] which makes the television series about 110 minutes longer than the movies, with more depth in both the stories and the characters. It was broadcast in six parts on SVT1 between 20 March 2010 and 24 April 2010.[4] Later in the summer of that year the series was released on DVD and Blu-ray, with the following additional support material and deleted scenes.

A DVD set of all 6 parts of the full miniseries was released on DVD outside Sweden by Music Box Home Entertainment on December 6, 2011.
